Retrofit Meal Guide

Hi all! To learn how to make healthy food choices, boost your metabolism, and what to look for (and avoid) when grocery shopping, check out my new meal guide at http://www.getretrofit.com/MealGuide.html.

Here's a preview to reel you in:

Hey guys! Welcome to the Retrofit Meal Guide. So, I’m assuming most of you have learned through practical experience that working out til you’re blue in the face will get you almost nowhere unless your diet is up and running as well. I believe the majority of us can get our heads around the working out part, but don’t quite take our eating habits as seriously as we should. We justify consuming unhealthy foods for a million reasons: “I deserve it. I’ve had a long day.” “I ran 5 miles today. I can eat all the ice cream I want.” “I eat when I’m stressed. And today was stressful!” Or, we excuse our poor food choices for whatever stage of life we are currently in: “I’m a starving student. I can only afford to eat Top Ramen.” “I’m a Mom. I have time to eat only what my kids leave on their plates.” “I’m a working girl. I eat whatever fast food is nearest to my office.” While many of those excuses ARE based in truth, the simple fact is that our bodies WILL NOT change if we do not change what we put into them, period. Burn more calories than you consume, and your body will start to look the way you want it to. It’s science people! And science doesn’t account for stressful jobs, family demands, or busy schedules. So no matter how good our excuses are, if getting in shape is our goal, then each and every one of us must find a way to make health and fitness a priority in our lives. This means developing and sticking to a balanced, sensible diet that is appropriate for our individual needs, while maintaining a well-defined, challenging workout program. Sound like a lot of work? Well it is! Better get used to it. But you can handle it, trust me. People are out there meeting their fitness goals everyday – there’s no reason why you can’t be one of them. So let’s get down to business!
